Human Resources Specialist (Retirement)

Review retirement packages for voluntary and disability retirement cases
• Conduct advisory services for voluntary and disability retirement cases
• Run retirement estimates and conduct advisory services on the content of the estimates

Experience Requirements: The HR Specialist (Retirement) shall have a minimum of six (6) years of experience in performing the above support services similar to those stated in this PWS.

Additional Required Knowledge and Skills: In addition to the experience described above, the HR Specialist (Retirement) shall possess the following knowledge and skills:
• Possess expert knowledge of federal retirement benefits and eligibility and the rules and regulations pertaining to them.
• Possess skill in independently reviewing and advising on federal retirement benefits and eligibility
• Possess skill coding and processing retirement personnel actions IAW OPM’s Guide to Processing Personnel Actions
Location & Work Authorization:
Must be able to report to USCG Headquarters (Washington, DC 20593) for required in-person tasks or post-award meetings, despite telework options.

Security Clearance / CAC Eligibility:
Candidates must be eligible to pass background checks and obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) through MP ICAM.

USCG/DHS Background:
​​​​​​​Prior experience supporting Coast Guard or DHS HR operations is a plus
