Financial Systems Analyst
Job Title: Financial Systems Analyst (All Levels)
Location: Washington Navy Yard, DC (On-site)
Security Clearance: Active Secret OR clearable (US Citizenship required)
Position Overview:
Join a premier defense consulting team at the forefront of naval readiness and strategic operations. We are seeking motivated Financial Systems Analysts across multiple experience tiers to provide critical programmatic support on-site at the historic Washington Navy Yard. In this role, you will collaborate with military leaders and technical experts to optimize acquisition strategies, manage sophisticated financial ecosystems, and deliver actionable data analysis. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical assistance and strategic advice in the preparation, execution, and analysis of annual budgets.
• Measure organizational performance, examine budget estimates, and evaluate compliance with established procedures and federal regulations.
• Employ cost-benefit analysis to review financial requests, assess program tradeoffs, and explore alternative funding methods.
• Examine past and current budgets and research policies and financial developments affecting organization spending.
• Develop guidelines governing budget data formulation and conduct training sessions on new budget procedures or IT systems.
• Senior Tier Responsibility: Design data guidelines and comfortably prepare, frame, and deliver formal financial briefings directly to senior naval leadership and Program Executives.
Required Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Security Clearance: Active Secret OR clearable (US Citizenship required).
• Technical Skills: Strong attention to detail, proficiency with spreadsheet-based data structures, and strong analytical capabilities.
Experience & Career Tiering:
We are actively mapping candidates to the following corporate tiers based on experience:
• Associate Tier: Greater than 1 year (>1) of relevant professional experience assisting with budget tracking or financial updates.
• Specialist Tier: Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience. Requires demonstrated experience handling financial tracking and internal controls.
• Senior/Principal Tier: 7–15+ years of advanced experience. Candidates must demonstrate deep mastery of Program Budget Information System (PBIS), Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), or NAVSEA Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), alongside a track record of briefing senior military leaders.
